With the three clubs each hosting their own series of unique and fantastic events covering XC, Enduro and DH there is always something for the locals to enjoy in a (not too) competitive nature.
Cairns is the home of the oldest running and largest single point-to-point mountain bike race in Australia; the RRR Mountain Bike Challenge as part of the Cairns Airport Adventure Festival. A truly unique and beautiful journey covering the three terrains that exemplify the Cairns region – Rural, Reef and Rainforest.
The region also plays host to what is dubbed the “toughest mountain biking event in the world” – the infamous Crocodile Trophy. This gruelling seven-day journey through the harsh outback entices riders from all over the world.
With 2017 seeing the UCI World-Championship trials come to Tropical North Queensland; it’s no wonder that Cairns has been widely regarded as one of the most unique and challenging race venues ever.
